Known for his strong hooks and witty punch lines, SNK has been thrilling music fans since 2012 with his unique brand of hip-hop and rap. Swiss-born with Kenyan roots and a U.K. education, SNK\u2019s vast cultural influences color his music and infuse his lyrics with timely pop references. Currently based in Switzerland, SNK\u2019s passion for rap and hip-hop ignited in the U.K. where he participated in rap battles at school.<\/p>\n
His career began to take off during his early years at university in Bristol when he fell in love with the local open mic scene and joined a band. Since 2012, he\u2019s been delivering his own music consistently as SNK, electrifying crowds in the U.K. and Switzerland. SNK\u2019s solo-debut \u201cNo Hero\/Nightwalker\u201d (NHNW) used intricate wordplay and melodies reminiscent of Drake, Childish Gambino or Grieves to showcase SNK\u2019s unique cultural viewpoint.<\/p>\n

\u201cNHNW was a transitional period, a time of self-discovery and search for identity,\u201d he says. \u201cI guess you could say this is my interpretation of living between the worlds. Wherever I go, I\u2019m a foreigner.\u201d In the fall of 2014, SNK traveled to the West Coast of the U.S. to produce the \u201cSummer of Dreams\u201d (SoD) EP together with Pascale Manuel Vegas. The two artists\u2019 contrasting natures complemented each other well. SNK, who likes to dip his lyrics in pop culture and sprinkle his songs with nerdy references, found an exciting counterpart with Vegas, creating extremely catchy songs with a more cheerful and \u201cpoppy\u201d feel than SNK\u2019s previously released material.<\/p>\n
With two official releases under his belt and a third due in early 2018, SNK continues to excite his fans and push his music in new and exhilarating directions, both in the studio and in live performances. \u201cI can\u2019t get enough of being on stage,\u201d he admits. \u201cThe feeling can\u2019t be described in words.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mit eing\u00e4ngigen Hooks und ausgekl\u00fcgelten Punchlines hat SNK im Jahr 2012 begonnen sich einen Namen zu machen. Der Schweizer mit kenianischen Wurzeln, und einer englischen Ausbildung, kombiniert die verschiedenen kulturellen Einfl\u00fcsse geschickt und l\u00e4sst diese mit zahlreichen Popkultur Referenzen in seiner Musik einfliessen.<\/p>
Die Leidenschaft f\u00fcr Rap und Hiphop begann f\u00fcr den in der Schweiz ans\u00e4ssigen Musiker mit Rap Battles und Cyphers an seiner Schule in England. Jedoch startete seine Karriere erst richtig w\u00e4hrend seines Studiums mit Auftritten bei Open Mics und als S\u00e4nger und Songwriter in einer Indie-Band. Die beiden kontrastreichen K\u00fcnstler erg\u00e4nzten sich gut und lieferten in 2015 ein rundes Werk ab mit Songs die ins Ohr gehen wie auch mit den SNK-typischen Popkultur Referenzen. Mit zwei offiziellen Releases auf seinem Konto und dem Dritten unterwegs macht SNK dort weiter wo er aufgeh\u00f6rt hat. \u201eIch krieg nicht genug davon [auf der B\u00fchne zu stehen], das Gef\u00fchl kann man nicht in Worte fassen\u201c<\/p>
